Face to Face Counselling
We offer free face-to-face counselling for Women Survivors of Rape or Childhood Sexual Abuse.
About Counselling
Your Counsellor can help you to talk through the things that are concerning you. The aim is to help you feel more in charge of your own life and to support you if you wish to make positive changes in your life. You will not be told what to do, but will be helped towards solutions that are practical, realistic and achievable. Talking things through - and knowing you are being listened to in a safe environment - often helps It is up to you how much you want to share with your counsellor, and you have the right to make your own decisions about change and/or whether you wish to continue with counselling. How long do the sessions last?
Each session usually lasts for sixty minutes, and it is usual to see the same counsellor for each session. Initially, we offer up to 12* one hour sessions of counselling, which is usually reviewed by you and your counsellor after six weeks. * Some sessions are also available for the survivor’s female family and friends who have been affected.
